Privacy Policy

Grid is a minimalist two-player territory game. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. We’ve kept it short because Grid collects very little.

The short version

Grid does not ask for your name, email, phone number, or any personal contact information. You don’t create an account with credentials. Grid does not show ads, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not sell your data to anyone.

What Grid stores

To let you play online matches and keep a record of your games, Grid stores the following on our backend (hosted on Supabase):

An anonymous identifier. When you first open Grid, the app creates an anonymous account automatically. It is not tied to your real identity, email, or Apple ID — it’s just a random identifier so your stats persist between sessions and so online opponents can be matched to you.
A display name. Grid generates a default name (e.g. “Player 1234”), which you can change in Settings. This is the name shown to opponents in online matches. Use any name you like — it does not need to be your real name.
Gameplay data. Your win/loss record, achievements, and match results are stored so the app can show your Logbook and match you with opponents online.

That’s all. Grid does not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone, or any device identifiers for tracking.

How the information is used

The information above is used only to:

Run online matches between players,
Keep your stats, record, and achievements,
Show your display name to opponents during a match.

It is not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking, and it is not shared with third parties for their own purposes.

Service providers

Grid uses Supabase as its backend (database and authentication) to store the data described above. Supabase processes this data on our behalf so the app can function. We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or cross-app tracking.

Deleting your data

You can delete all of your data at any time from within the app: Settings → Delete my data. This permanently removes your profile, display name, stats, achievements, and match records from our backend, and resets the app to a fresh anonymous identity. This action cannot be undone.

Children’s privacy

Grid does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the app does not require or request any personally identifying information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date.
